Eco-Friendly

Being environmentally friendly
is part of our everyday life...

What We Are Doing in Our Office to Be More Eco-Friendly

At Stackable Sensations, our promise to create happiness means more than delivering useful promotional products and superior quality service. It also encompasses our effort to create happiness for the environment and our local community!

Inside the office, we have begun taking notes in an eco-friendly manner. For example, some of our employees opt to use iPads when in meetings. Others have also begun to use the Rocketbook. The Rocketbook allows users to transfer all their notes to an email or shared drive. The page that was previously covered in notes is then completely erased, allowing the paper to be reused! When paper is necessary, stone paper is available for use.

Recycling bins are placed throughout the office, ensuring that any printed samples that were sent to us are recycled rather than thrown away. The bins also serve as a reminder to our employees to consider the environment throughout the day and make a conscious effort to cut down on waste.

With the renovation of our office, we have replaced all lighting with LEDs. LED lights have become increasingly popular for their longer life span and energy efficiency when compared to fluorescent and incandescent lights. This ensures that a substantial amount of energy can be saved over longtime use. LED lights also have smaller carbon emissions than other lighting. Thus, opting to use LED lights enables us to reduce our carbon footprint. To further reduce energy consumption, electronics are unplugged at the end of the day.

Boss Lady also supplies eco-friendly coffee cups, plates, napkins, and water tumblers so employees can enjoy their lunch while helping the planet. Boss Lady even instituted a hybrid work schedule for her employees. This is a great benefit for both employees and the environment! A hybrid schedule ensures that fewer cars are on the road, which translates to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

On the fulfillment side, we have made a conscious effort to start using recycled eco-friendly packaging for when we ship out orders. With boxes, tissue paper, and other packaging materials often serving a one-time only use, we decided that this would be a crucial area to target to reduce our impact on the environment.

What Our Factories Are Doing to Be More Eco-Friendly

Not only are we dedicated to being more eco-friendly, but our preferred vendors are too!

Shipping and packaging are major components of the promotional product industry. To combat the negative impact that excessive shipping can have on the environment, some of our preferred vendors have made a conscious effort to deliver orders with UPS® Carbon Neutral Shipping while others are working to have a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by the year 2025. Many of our preferred vendors are platinum-rated companies with the Green Business Bureau, are working towards zero manufacturing waste, and have committed to completely offsetting their carbon footprint. They have also emphasized the importance of eco-friendly packaging, focusing on packaging from post-consumer materials and purchasing all cardboard boxes certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Another major component of the promotional products industry is the materials utilized throughout production. A major focus has been producing products made with eco-friendly materials. Such materials may include bamboo, biodegradable material, rPET, and PLA. Wheat straw plastic and stone are two other unique materials that are being utilized. Further, there has been a recent push to make sunscreen out of truly reef-safe ingredients. By excluding harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octanoate, sunscreen does not harm coral. These chemicals can be so detrimental that Hawaii and Mexico banned the use of sunscreens that contained these ingredients! Another major initiative is the proper handling of hazardous materials and commitment to recycling old electronics.

This commitment to the environment extends past the production phase. For example, some work with the Give Back Box, donating all unused or damaged apparel, while others made a commitment to plant two trees for everyone that they consume.

Solar-powered factories have also been increasingly popular, and we are proud to use vendors that have switched from traditional electricity. This switch to solar power reduced the energy expelled by approximately 43 percent!

By working with vendors that share our commitment to the environment, we are confident that we can continue to deliver high-quality and unique products while benefiting the environment.
